This first home is a warm and characterful reflection of its easygoing occupants , a space designed around comfort, personality, and the small rituals of everyday life. Rooted in a mid-century modern sensibility, warm cherrywood tones and wood flooring establish the foundation of the palette, while playful accents and tactile finishes introduce moments of surprise throughout the home. Despite its compact footprint, the layout was thoughtfully planned to balance openness with practicality. One of the bedrooms was reimagined as a semi-open study framed by wood carpentry and folding glass doors, allowing natural light to travel deeper into the home while a dual-sided display shelving quietly anchors the living area with books, collectibles, and travel finds. Across the communal spaces, loose furniture pieces create a relaxed and adaptable atmosphere , from the deep green corduroy sofa and patterned rug in the living room to a curated dining setting centred beneath a sculptural Gifu Mino Washi paper pendant from AEAE furniture, a subtle nod to one of the homeowners’ favourite travel destinations. The kitchen continues the warm material language with cherrywood cabinetry and a playful terracotta and olive checkered backsplash, while the bathrooms introduce handcrafted moments through richly toned tiles, whimsical mirrors, and an intricately patterned vessel sink. In the master bedroom, floor-to-ceiling wardrobes in a matte olive finish integrate a vanity zone, punctuated by asymmetrical orange handles and warm lighting that soften the space. What ties the home together is a shared language of colour, craft, and collected objects , burgundy mosaics, textured tiles, vintage-inspired lighting, and small curios gathered from travels , creating a home that feels personal, expressive, and full of quiet character.
